Advanced Womens' Chabura

Women learningYeshivat Simchat Shlomo is pleased to announce the opening of the Advanced Women's Chabura.  The vision of the Chabura is to create a space for women to become just this - a chaburah- a warm and supportive community, connected to the Torah and Am Yisrael where they will share their personal growth, daaven together, develop spiritually and deepen their knowledge of Torah.  The Chabura will combine serious textual learning along with in-depth exploration of the fountain of Jewish spiritual practices.

The Advanced Women's Chabura is for students with background in Torah learning who desire a program that encompasses the study of Tanach, Gemara, Halacha and Chassidut, and more, in a framework that encourages the integration of their learning with their own spiritual growth. Participants will expand their learning skills and be encouraged to discover their own insights as they broaden their experience and awareness of the profundity of the Torah and its relevance in our lives.

This year’s program will be the second year of the Advanced Women's Chabura. Our long-term vision is to build a multi-year program that will provide students with the higher learning and spiritual growth opportunities that will in turn facilitate them to become mashpiot- significant contributors to the Torah learning and spiritual life in their own communities and in Am Yisrael.

The program’s requirements include fundamental Hebrew reading and comprehension skills, including Rashi as well as an interest in in-depth spiritual learning.

Ideally all students will have spent at least one or two years in a serious Torah study program prior to joining the Chabura.  Students will enroll on a full-time or significant part-time basis.

Inspired by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach's example of true openness, Yeshivat Simchat Shlomo aspires to provide Torah learning in an environment that allows each student to find her own path in Torah and in the service of Hashem.  We welcome all serious seekers/students regardless of their spiritual background without seeking to impose a specific pathway.
